Any new members or users in the San Fran/Sacto CA areas??

Postby K MANIAC » Sun Mar 01, 2009 11:54 am

Calling all new users and members in the San Francisco and Sacramento areas of California. Right now there are five of us in these areas that post regularly to the forum, two near San Jose, two in the East Bay (including me) and one out in Elk Grove (and we all know who we are). We would like to hear from others, too. So, if you are new to the board and live in these areas, post and introduce yourselves. We would love to invite you to our next Northern California luncheon and meet you. :)

Howdy George!
I'm down in the Los Angeles area, but know most of the folks up there. You have a great group of folks there. We are a bunch of pussy's down here compared to the guys up there! Those guys have the fastest, baddest and one of the most pristine Mark VIIs I've ever seen.
Keep your eyes peeled for the next meet up there (hint hint) and hopefully you'll run into Cody, Chris, Jeremy, Don, Brian, and maybe even Robert and Rick will run west to catch up with all of ya. These guys are all great folks and a wealth of knowledge. I guarantee that you'll learn something; probably more than you can remember in one serving. These guys have all done things with their cars that will knock your socks off, so pay attention.

Hopefully, Kat and I, and perhaps Brent & Chris will wander up and visit again, soon.

If you are in the Los Angeles area on the third Sunday of any month, stop in and say "HI" at one of our monthly lunches.

Enjoy your Mark. It'll do things that you cant believe it will do! You will soon be looking for more driveway space for another one.

Take care,
Art

Hey George:

We're glad to have you aboard. You will find your Lincoln quite reMARKable. You will have to post a picture or at least tell us the exterior/interior colors. We have a roving band of Mark VII guys up here in NorCal. We have three in San Jose/Santa Clara [Jeremy (MACHVII), Brian & Don (BigDon)], two of us in Concord [me and Cody (Cessnapilot89)] and one in Elk Grove [Robert (88mk7man)]. Looks like we need to schedule another lunch and this time have it somewhere between San Jose and Sacramento. If you have any ideas, let us know.

I have a plan for our next luncheon and a location to propose.

I will be back in touch soon for us to set a regular schedule (this economy is killing me).

As always,

I remain...

Hey George:

Good to hear from you. I proposed some dates with the others here in NorCal a few weeks ago and heard nothing back. Me and Cody (Cessnapilot89) are planning on attending the Capital City Mopars show at Hagin Park in Rancho Cordova on Saturday June 27th. Even though I own a Mark VII (for less than a year now), my roots go deep with MoPar. Maybe you could meet us there.

You bought a new Mustang in 1964?? Wow!! My father took delivery of a 1964 Plymouth Fury in the summer of 1964 when I was only 6-1/2 years old.

To post pictures, you will need an account on a photo posting service. I use Photobucket (www.photobucket.com). Once you post pictures in an album on the service, you can reference a link in your posts to show the picture.

Glad to have you aboard. We will try to put together another lunch soon.

Hey Geroge,
I glanced at some article in some magazine as well, but I hear that the guy who owns that car is a real jerk!

I'd stay clear of the idiot!

Art

By the way, it is impossible to own too many Mark VII's and aparently it is becoming fashionable to own a Mark III concurrently.

Welcome from primos, Pennsylvania. I would suggest that you have your car dynoed or take it to the track on a cool day and get your figures now now now. At the track, I'd wager you'll average 15.4@90mph with your current configuration.

Hey Ben, a big welcome from the Bay Area. Glad to have you with us. Us NorCal guys are not quite as organized as the SoCal folks, but we try to get together every so often. Is that Mark of yours street legal or just a weekend warrior on the track? A few of us NorCal guys are on Facebook. Look us up there, too. We will try to schedule another get together soon.

Trunk Light:

John: Yes, there is a Light in the Trunk.

Reach up into the Center of the Trunk under the Rear Window Shelf. You should see/feel a rectangular hole cut-out in the Trunk Cover.

Sounds like the Light Bulb is either missing or burned out. Replace it.

Welcome to the Club.

Hello Fellow Mark VII Enthusiast!
After many years of hemming and hawing about how much I love Mark VII's and how much i would love to have one, (My dad had one that he was going to sell me but one week before I went to pick it up his wife rolled it! ARGGH! OH, yes, she was OK) I finally shelled out a few buck to save what I felt was a salvageable Jewel Green Metallic '92 LSC. Dismal when I first saw her but she runs great and, for the most part, is all original. So, here I am at 52 years old re-venturing into the constant maintenance and improvement of an older car. I have joined The Lincoln Mark VII Club (Waiting for membership confirmation) and I look forward to exchanging hints, tech tips, and information on the slow but sure restoration of my new "Jewel". This forum for Mark VII's has already given me a great deal of information and I look forward to sharing my experiences with every one here as much as I have read and gained many great tips from the Mark VII enthusiast in this club! GREAT FORUM! Looking forward to, one day, meeting at least a few of you! :)

There's one more to the fold. I've moved to the South Bay. I'm sans Mark VIIs right now, but I'm hoping to drive one out in a year. I haven't driven a Mark in a really, really, really friggin' long time. I saw an '88 or '89 the other night and I really miss the car. This rental Corolla isn't cutting it.

Hi Nick: Welcome to the "Left Coast". Our fearless leader here, also in the South Bay (MACHVII), has been too busy "Doing the Hustle" and trying to outrun a recalcitrant gnome to take a break for a weekend luncheon. I'm sure if the rest of us out here can put our heads together, we can schedule something. Let us know where you land.

Welcome to the Left Coast, Nick. I'm currently a few hours drive south of you, for the winter. I'll most certainly be visiting the bay area soon and would love to shake your hand and have a cup of coffee with you, and some of my other Bay Area friends.

I didn't see your post until today, but did see some Facebook tidbits that eluded to your move, but I wasn't certain until I read this thread.

Hope to meet you soon and I hope all is going well with your new experiences and the California way of life. 8-)
