I think he was refering to the LSC "Special Edition" black trim.

That trim is alright. Needs paint touch ups. I don't shoot the spots where it has faded (khm! driver side! khm!) too close. Thanks man ;)

Ok, thought i'd better join in! As an owner of a 90 BB and a 89 LSC here's my opinion, I like them both. The BB pillow seats are the most comfy for the long haul trips. However the LSC seats have lumbar, bolster + front center adjustments for comfort. Also I find the LSC sport seats hold you more firmly in place when really driving the car( re; pushing the limits). Some pics...

Very nice, that is in excellent condition. Take good care of it, treat the leather etc.

Postby Sir Tonk » Fri Jul 26, 2013 9:50 pm

Finally got around to taking a few photos of my '88 LSC.

I did a full leather cleaning and conditioning a couple of months ago and have cleaned the everliving hell out of everything I can get to. Gonna have to recover both front seats at some point, but they're good enough for the time being. Other than a tear by the door handle on the driver side and a small tear by the Mark VII logo on the dash, it all looks pretty great for being so old.

Image
Looks like all the lights are working with the new radio. I'm so glad the whine is gone.

Image
Radio sits a bit low, but it works great and now I have twelve FM presets instead of four!1

Image
Burgundy!

Image
Mood lighting.

Image
Can't wait to get the newer cluster, these 85mph units are so unfulfilling.

Image
So much burgundy...

Image
Need to get another set of these someday, the driver side is slowly dying.

Image
Moody.

Image
No tear on this side (yet).

Image
Is the lighting for the shift indicator supposed to be dim as hell? The light is there, but I can barely see the letters/numbers.

Image
After a full month of searching for a burgundy wheel cover, I settled for what I thought was a dark tan cover. Switching to a black cover tomorrow. (I wrapped plastic around the top of the wheel where the black goo was escaping)

Image
Trunk with next weekend's project ready to go.

Whatever you do, do NOT up size the wattage of the bulb that is currently there. Instead, make sure that all of the lenses and bulbs are CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and that the shielding is NOT pointing up :)

Well, here's the latest (I've deleted my old posts in this thread) - after all of the interior panels have been repainted a lighter shade of grey, and the headliner including the overhead was replaced.

How the interior looks in general... yes, the seats still need to be reupholstered

Image

The lighter grey makes the interior 1/4 panels look almost white from the outside.

Image

The back... I reupholstered the 1/4 trim with the same cloth as I did the headliner

Image

The door panels, in addition to being painted (and in the case of the driver, replaced), were matched with black carpet trims and black speaker grilles for a nicer contrast.

Image

The dew wipes were redone.

Image

The steering wheel is from another car... I chose the light grey paint with it in mind, and you can see from the color of the shroud that it is very close.

Image

I chose black for the overhead headliner primarily so that an accidental stain on a visor wouldn't ruin it again.

Image

I also figured given the other black accents in the interior that it was going to fit in nicely.

Image

Here's a closer look...

Image
Image

Last, but not least - a 1991 CD player, reconditioned by Paul Protos.

Excellent, that looks great. I like that concept of two tone interior colors. Mine is all the light near white color, but I've wondered what little bits of gray or black would do. I'm hunting for a nice gray Marauder steering wheel now. My headliner is very bad, so the fabric and color is open to choices. I might do them or the front at least in a gray color. Hmm,

Right, I don't really like one tone interiors - though they can be executed very well, a well designed two tone is almost always going to look sharper. I really look forward to seeing what you come up with! :D
