X2 on the 9G color code, I have had 4 89s w/9G color scheme. Two were "totaled" by getting rear ended, and I sold one that had the maroon interior that I don't care for. My 2nd favorite is the 90 dark titanium SE.

My 89 paint is very good except a small area on the hump of the trunk where it has just started to fade. It has a true 99k on the clock. 8-)

Um ... okay.

Good thing that out of 192,000 vehicles produced, there was only ONE Lincoln Mark VII to leave the factory in Pink.

I don't know about what's the rarest.. but I can say up here in the New England area mark viis alone are hard to come across. But the one thing I will get eventually is the brown interior.... I will say though it was a bit sad to click on this thread and see arts posts..

The rarest color, well that would be the one I haven't yet painted my SE. I haven't begun the testing yet to even make it. I know what the ingredients will be, but not the final recipe. I love the late 90's Toreador Red, and my Mercury has that on the upper 2/3 of it. I'll use that as my base, and add a tint coat next before the clear. I have the candy concentrate I'll use to mix with the base color, and the gold pearl I want in it, just a touch. The candy concentrate is called Blood Red, and it is a really deep dark blood red color. We'll see how that goes, any red is very expensive, the base alone is $600 a gallon.

It would be really keen if you had a GCT kit for that.

Yes, yes, shoot me, I'm ready to come get it. My dad has been in and out of the hospital and rehab places, the VA, now back in the hospital, two new strokes etc.

Maybe next Tuesday, I almost get every other Tuesday off. Regards,

My heartfelt wishes for your father's recovery, Don. My wife is housebound after a major heart attack last May.

Although it is not a rare color, my '89 LSC is light sandalwood. I'm going to repaint it the same color.

Thanks Bob, and take great care of your wife. We take everything for granted, walking and eating etc. Just keep moving all of your body parts, normal activities keep us alive, but suspend those and things change.

I've got a pint of my Mercury's red base paint to play with. I'll make time in a couple of months to try some combinations with it. I have a spare fender and trunk from an old Crown Vic to test on.
